The global streaming platform, Netflix has acquired a Nigerian TV series titled “Crazy, Lovely, Cool”, adding to its rapidly expanding catalogue of Nollywood content.
The series is a collaborative production between Trace TV and The Nollywood Factory, which is owned by the award-winning director Obi Emelonye and.
The TV show was filmed in 2017 inside the picturesque main campus of the University of Nigeria in Enugu State, Nigeria. It looks into the various activities of university undergraduates and their lecturers in the setting of a typical Nigerian university.
The dynamic hour-long sitcom stars many familiar faces like Uru Eke, Adesua Etomi-Wellington, Zynell Zuh, Enyinna Nwigwe and Anthony Monjaro.
With more than two decades of experience in filmmaking, Obi Emelonye is known for telling authentically Nigerian stories with a universal appeal. He has worked on some of Nollywood’s most successful productions, including the biopic, ‘Badamasi: Portrait of a General’ which tells the life story of General Ibrahim Babangida.
Netflix has also acquired three new Nigerian films that will be available for streaming as from Friday, December 20, 2019.
The new additions are Iyore (The Return), The First Lady and Being Mrs Elliot.
These films feature famous Nollywood actors like Joseph Benjamin, Rita Dominic, Omoni Oboli and Majid Michel.
