The Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria (BON) wishes to convey its appreciation to the Federal Government, the Honourable Minister of Information and Culture and the National Broadcasting Commission for finding it worthy to secure waiver of sixty percent (60%) outstanding debt by broadcast stations during this hard time.

The association appreciates the noble gesture of the Federal government, for acknowledging the challenges that have greatly affected the Broadcast Industry by Covid-19 pandemic, which resulted to huge loss of revenue running into billions of Naira and have also impacted negatively on licensees to operate to full capacity.

Member Stations had no choice but continue to operate to ensure that the society is well informed, educated and entertained while they stay home, to stay safe as part of the corporate social responsibility.

To do otherwise is to abandon the responsibility of Broadcasting.

BON would like to use this opportunity to advise members to take full advantage of this noble gesture by the Federal Government to settle their forty percent (40%) outstanding fees to the Commission and licensees to carry out reconciliation and sign  reconciled statement with NBC  to avoid disputes in the future within the stipulated time frame.

Once again, we appreciate the Federal Government.
